Support the Intelligent Community Forum

The Intelligent Community Forum is known for its international Awards program, which names the Smart21, the Top Seven and the Intelligent Community of the Year.  The Awards program is also an ongoing research project.  Each year, hundreds of communities submit detailed nomination forms to ICF.  We analyze this information to identify and document best practices in broadband deployment, knowledge workforce development, digital inclusion, innovation and marketing and advocacy.  We then share this information with communities around the world, in order to help them benchmark themselves agains their global competition and better meet the challenges of the Broadband Economy.  Our work helps:

  • Steer communities onto the path of sustainable and inclusive economic growth
  • Invigorate entrepreneurship and the creation of knowledge economies at the local level
  • Reduce the economic inequality that leads to social disfunction
  • Keep the children in the village: preventing the "brain drain" of young talent that dooms communities to stagnation
  • Empower communities to re-energize local culture and give it new economic expression
  • Promote greater citizen participation and greater transparency and accountability in government
